Portfolio of experience, skills and knowledge
I have worked at Bottisham Village College since 1995 and been Head of Music for the last 4 years. I have worked with feeder primary schools on collaborative music projects and have also been ITT mentor for five years, working with the Faculty of Education in training the new generation of secondary music teachers.
A particular interest of mine is creating and maintaining an inclusive KS3 curriculum with enrichment opportunities that encourage a good uptake at GCSE level. I have been responsible for monitoring the assessment for learning across all the creative design subjects of the school. Our focus is on giving good quality teacher feedback to maximise student progression and motivation.
In my role as SLE, I have enjoyed working with another school, developing KS3 schemes of work, as well as inclusion and assessment procedures with an aim to increase student engagement and subsequently greater uptake at KS4.
