Portfolio of experience, skills and knowledge:
I have been assistant head of the mathematics faculty at Bottisham Village College since September 2013, leading curriculum development at both KS3 and KS4. During my 11 years at Bottisham, I have created and implemented intervention programmes to support students in achieving a secure level 4 and developed ways of tracking and assessing student progress in mathematics. Assessment for learning is a particular interest of mine and how we use feedback to further students’ understanding of mathematics.
I am passionate about working collaboratively with colleagues to improve teaching and learning. I have been able to do this through my work as a mentor to staff in our faculty as well as being the mathematics mentor for the Faculty of Education PGCE trainees and School Direct trainees at Bottisham.
