Portfolio of experience, skills, knowledge.
All our trainees and newly qualified teachers should be valued and supported. Both their colleagues and their students benefit from the significant contributions they make to school life, to teaching & learning. The need to train, develop and ultimately to retain our talented teachers is clear and we all have a responsibility to make this happen. Positive outcomes come from knowing our trainees and NQTs as individuals and building their confidence as professionals. Developing their ability to reflect, to evaluate and to take risks and supporting our colleagues to do the same, is key.
I have been fortunate to work as a mentor, professional tutor and link lecturer. Most recently, working as co-director of the Anglian Gateway and senior tutor for our key ITT provider, CTSN, I have had responsibility for recruiting and training individuals who have become successful teachers in many of our partnership schools. Each of these roles has meant working alongside and leading groups of experienced, able practitioners who share their knowledge and expertise to develop trainees and newly-qualified teachers in our schools. I can offer the benefit of a wide range of experience, the willingness to listen and to learn alongside you.
